Divine Idea #Trust30

The eleventh challenge in the #Trust30 Challenge is inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote - 'Imitation is Suicide. Insist on yourself; never imitate'.

Fabian Kruse poses the challenge - write down in which areas of your life you have to overcome these suicidal tendencies of imitation, and how you can transform them into a newborn you - one that doesn't hide it's uniqueness, but thrives on it. There is a "divine idea which each of us represents" - which is yours?

The mister and I were actually talking about this the other night. I don't like to imitate or be imitated. That's not to say that either have not happened and will not happen in the future.

I don't have a style as such. I wear what feels comfortable for the day. One day that may be pyjamas, the next black jeans with a band t-shirt, the next a wrap around skirt with a singlet, the next a 50's style dress - you get the point. I don't really have a consistent style.

Because of this I find myself imitating other's styles. Scarves are in at the moment, so I'm lusting after scarves. I want a simple floral dress to wear with my Docs and leather jacket like I've seen in Fox In Flats.
Imitating or channeling?
I know that style is to be inspired by others but I struggle to not imitate. Is there a difference?

My divine idea? I have no idea. Ask me in twenty years and I may know.
