We all should. I know on Tuesday I needed one. Unfortunately I couldn't during the day as lufflump needed me. I did, however, have some mental health time out when he had went to bed.
I had a long, hot shower with Janis Joplin blaring. I danced, I sung, I pampered myself and I felt so refreshed. I still felt flat, so went to bed early and read some of my favourite blogs. It recharges me and makes me reassess situations. It's a necessary part of my day, week, month, year, and life. I also love to write, sit outside in the rain and daydream, and my favourite is to go to the beach or the rainforest.

What do you do?
My mental health day involves either - catching up with a girlfriend over coffee, shopping (window shopping) and just chilling out by myself. Doing nothing - just watching tv. :)
ReplyDeleteEverything but the exercise ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do on 'Mental Health Days' is to call in sick to work, drop the kids off to daycare, and disappear. I go shopping somewhere I hardly ever go, don't tell anyone where I've gone (except now I'm a Mum, I take my mobile with me. Pre-kids, I made myself completely un-contactable). I find it so recharging.
