I made a half hearted attempt when bub was a newborn to put a dummy in her mouth but I couldn't stand seeing this huge contraption take up half her face. That, and her unwillingness to take it, shut down my attempts to try. Lufflump does look cuter without it.
I spat the dummy when I was a baby too. My parents still like to say that I've been spitting the dummy since I was born ;) He does, he looks so grown up though! xxx
We escaped the dummy thing and the kids didn't suck their thumbs, BUT now I'm stuck with ratty blankets that they refuse to ditch, despite the fact that they are now 8 and 6!
It drove us crazy too and we had no idea what to do but once he bit the ends off all his dummies we knew we couldn't keep giving him new ones. It was surprisingly easy actually, we got lucky. I hope you do too! xxx
Better without :) My first son's dummy was a life saver for almost a year until he decided to wean himself off it. My second son only lasted about 3 months with his dummy but he's been asking about it again I not sure if this has to do with our upcoming baby due in Feb.
That's awesome that he weaned himself off it. I'm worried that we'll be dealing with asking for it again when sesame comes especially if she uses a dummy.
I hope it gets easier. Good luck with the birth! xxx
Hahaha that was why we pushed the dummy. I sucked on my thumb until I got braces at 13. The only reason I really stopped was because the braces would cut my thumb open. My thumb is even a bit longer than my other one from sucking on it. Good luck, hopefully she won't need braces!! xxx
Well done! We are preparing to ditch the dummer on behalf of our 3.5 year old. It's gonna be nasty! I'm scared! But your photo really helps. Thank you. x
Just like everyone else I LOVE comments and they make me SMILE. I'll reply as soon as I can, but please know that I appreciate and read EVERY single comment. Thanks xxx
Yay!! Well done, I agree SO much cuter without it
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's all him though - he's made it so easy for everyone!

Your header looks fabulous. Love, love!
ReplyDeletePS. Contemplating getting rid of Li'l Holly's too. :)
I agree! Looking gorgeous :)
DeleteThank you ladies!
DeleteI just know you'll do it wonderfully Kellie. Can't wait to hear how :)

Gorgeous boy! Dropping the dummy is hard work but they do look much, much better without them.
ReplyDeleteThankfully the way lufflump did it (biting off the end of EVERY single dummy) made it easier than it otherwise would have been.
DeleteSo much better!! Thanks Amy :)

ReplyDeleteAren't they so gorgeous when they're sleeping?!
At least blankets can be washed :)
DeleteThey are so gorgeous when sleeping, if only they liked sleeping more!
Thanks for commenting xxx
Well done Ames! Such a huge milestone for the bub.. my girl never used it but I know it can be pretty tough trying to wean kids off it ;p

Thankfully lufflump was pretty easy, he bit the end of all his dummies and has only asked for it three times. No real worries though!

Gorgeous! Our babes only had dummies for a month or two and weaned off themselves, thankfully.
ReplyDeleteWow that's so impressive! Much easier for you and them :)

My little girl still has hers, and it drives me crazy at times!

Yes but gorgeous anyhow. So hard to spit the dummy !
ReplyDeleteWe got away with it easily (so far). Fingers crossed it continues being easy!

We never needed one for Indi. She found her thumb at 3 months old and we figure we'll just start saving for braces!

ReplyDeleteGood luck!!! I hope it's relatively easy. I've heard positive things about a dummy fairy or giving the dummies to 'babies'.
